Alight, finally have some free time on my hands to write. New Mon-Thu drama, Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) has aired the first two episodes, and I’m lovin it.
Honestly, this drama was a drama I had the lowest expectation for. I love Yoon Eun Hye, but her recent drama projects (Missing You, Lie To Me) were all bleh. She’s a great actress, but she picks such weird dramas. Hahaha. I’m glad this drama is so good, so far 🙂 The fact that Lee Dong Gun is the male lead was also one of the reasons why I didn’t expect much. He’s great, really, but I just can’t find myself liking him. He’s an awesome actor, but I don’t know why I don’t like him. Hahaha.
After watching the two episodes, I find myself really liking the show. It’s a mix and match of the other themes other dramas had, but there’s a twist and it’s just refreshing.
Basically, Mirae meets her future self who insist that she should stay away from Kim Shin, as he would kill the person she loves the most. I don’t know what grudge future Mirae has with her husband, Kim Shin, but that is for us to know in the future.
We also find out that Se Joo (Jung Yong Hwa) marries Yoo Kyung (Han Chae Ah) in the past or future…or yeah. If you get what I mean. So future Mirae comes to meet present-time Mirae and tells her to seduce Se Joo instead as he is a chaebol.
Basically what she’s trying to do is to switch the fates of the four people. She’s most concern about herself (present Mirae), thus as she tries to amend her fate, she changes the other three characters’ fates as well. Se Joo fell in love with Mirae at first sight at Jeju Island, instead of falling in love with Yoo Kyung. This is because future Mirae had “switched” the fate of Yoo Kyung and Mirae.
However, she finds out that there was another accident, and Mirae still gets entangled with Kim Shin. Uh Oh.
So we get the hint that drama is having a mix and match theme. There is a time-travel theme, and also a swapping of fates theme. However, as future Mirae tries to change the present, can she really avoid the fate that Kim Shin and Mirae will fall in love and marry, while Se Joo and Yo Kyung gets married as well? I doubt so.
All this drama needs to do, is to remain as fun as it is now, and coupled with a strong script, it could go far 🙂
