POV DISCUSSION: Unemployed Romance Episode 8

Alright! I wonder what happened to the writer because Episode 8 is so good! It’s considered good because most of the episodes are…err…on the boring side? This episode had a lot of good moments, and I loved it so much🙂

I feel so bad for Wan Ha because Seung Hee still likes Jong Dae. Wan Ha is really the perfect man – and every part of me wants Seung Hee to be with him, but we all started this drama knowing that Seung Hee will end up with Jong Dae no matter what. Bummer.

Anyway, Yeon Woo is such a sweet nice girl, and her daddy is one funny guy. In this episode, Wan Ha finds out that Seung Hee is still in contact with Jong Dae, though not intentionally and vice versa – Jong Dae finds out that Seung Hee is dating Wan Ha.

Seung Hee and Jong Dae tells Yeon Woo that they no longer have feelings for each other, and not to misunderstand. Seung Hee adds on that first love is a mistake, and it’s something that people do when they’re young and foolish. However, both Jong Dae and Seung Hee feel sad even though they are the ones insisting it was nothing.

Yeon Woo tells Jong Dae that she’s not angry and that she’s just upset that he is keeping secrets from her. She gives him a handmade coat and Jong Dae thinks to himself that the coat is really heavy and that’s why he doesn’t like her. (DUDE, what is wrong with you?)

vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h22m05s232Wan Ha drops by Seung Hee’s sister house for dinner and little nephew sits on Wan Ha’s lap, following Mummy’s secret order. Hah. vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h23m33s92vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h23m42s174Seung Hee’s sister went out with the kids and her husband to the store – and also to leave Seung Hee alone with Wan Ha. Seung Hee as indigestion – and they teased us thinking that he was going to kiss her. He tells her that he will try to find medicine, but couldn’t so he massaged her hand and back instead. vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h23m59s88And…he did went for a slight kiss while she was so scared of the needle and kept her eyes close. (SQUEEEE~)

Seung Hee waits around at the unemployment centre, and Jong Dae sees her. He asks why is she there. She mentions that she has a boyfriend too and that she has a lunch date with him. She also mentioned that she’s there to accompany a junior.

Seung Hee sits while listening to a conversion with the man sitting beside her. The man is an ex-convict, and Jong Dae finds out from his colleague that he had various charges against him, including sexual harassment and kidnapping. He turns to find both Seung Hee and the man gone. He calls Seung Hee, and runs to the basement after hearing Seung Hee shout on the phone.

Jong Dae jumps on the guy (who was holding Seung Hee’s bag pack), and big guy throws Jong Dae off to the ground. Seung Hee asks big guy if he was okay. Turns out that Seung Hee spilled coffee and big guy was just holding her bag for her. Jong Dae apologised, and big man says it’s okay. Then…police sirens sound were heard. Hah. Jong Dae called the cops on his way down.

Seung Hee tries to tell Jong Dae before hand that she is dating Wan Ha – but Jong Dae stops Seung Hee from revealing anything by saying he is not interested in who her boyfriend is. However, he gets a shocked when Wan Ha appears at the police station as Seung Hee’s boyfriend. Wan Ha, too, is taken aback that Jong Dae is there.

Seung Hee tells Wan Ha to make it a meal instead, and they agreed on that. Wan Ha holds Seung Hee’s hand and walks away.

Jong Dae returns to the office and find out that Yeon Woo’s dad is waiting for him.vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h27m22s74vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h27m31s164Yeon Woo’s dad tells Jong Dae to stop dating with his daughter, and Jong Dae agrees. Dad wasn’t listening properly and went on to ask how much will it take to break off – and he then realised that Jong Dae had agreed to break up. HAH! He is surprised at his reaction and asked why he back off so easily, and Jong Dae is being the noob he is and asked why Dad is asking him that when he asked him to break up.

Yeon Woo is upset at Dad – and Dad tells her why she dated a guy who backs off so easily. Yeon Woo whines that she was chasing him around because she liked him.

vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h27m10s213vlcsnap-2013-11-24-08h27m12s232Seung Hee tries to explain to Wan Ha that it was just coincidence that she met Jong Dae, and that he has a girlfriend. Wan Ha is clearly upset.

Jong Dae tells his friend that Wan Ha is dating Seung Hee, and they are surprised and laughs at Jong Dae that he must have felt bad since Wan Ha is successful. Jong Dae rants at his friends for making a joke at this time, when they’re all not successful. However, friends are self-aware of their own situation. Awww. That’s nice.

Yeon Woo’s dad turn up, and tells Jong Dae to date his daughter, and to try the civil servant exam again and he would pay all of the expenses. Jong Dae refuses – and dad can’t understand him at all. Neither can his friends.

Jong Dae is speaking to Yeon Woo on the phone, who is crying and asks if Jong Dae is upset because of her dad.

Jong Dae goes to the hospital to check his ribs as it hurts. Turn out that he has a fractured rib, because of the big man incident.

Jong Dae insist that there is nothing wrong and tells her that she shouldn’t be concern about that as they’re not in that relationship to be concern about each other.

Wasn’t this episode lovely? I loved this episode – and honestly, I really want Wan Ha to be with Seung Hee. I know it’s impossible though😦 It’s nice that Jong Dae and Seung Hee still have feelings for each other, and is concern about each other, but I don’t think Wan Ha loses out to Jong Dae in anyway. In fact, Jong Dae loses to Wan Ha, because Wan Ha is such an awesome guy.

I don’t think Jong Dae even deserves Yeon Woo, because she’s a really nice girl and he’s just…I don’t know how to put it.

And extra points for this episode because Jong Dae’s friends aren’t that useless. They are self-aware and it was a nice moment when his friend said that he is fully aware of his situation but there was nothing much he could do.

We have 2 more episodes to go, and 2 more episodes to convince me why Seung Hee and Jong Dae should be together. I don’t want them to be together just because they have feelings for each other. Make me see that Jong Dae is better than Wan Ha! I hope that the last two episodes is good, and maintain this good feeling in episode 8.

The preview showed that Seung Hee finds out that Sun Joo didn’t tell Jong Dae about the accident, and Seung Hee was reflecting on herself on why she gave up on Jong Dae.

You know – sometimes it’s best to leave things in the past, in the past? You have a perfect guy by your side now! Well, you can give him to me if you don’t want. Hahaha.🙂

  1. Wow!!! Finally!! An episode that wasn’t boring or slow. Yay. There hasn’t been one of these in a long time. However even though I was really happy for this episode, I’m dreading the last two because this means a sad ending for our Wan Ha😦 I so want him to be with Seung Hee. He’s such a great person. Nice, friendly, successful, caring and thoughtful. I loved it when her nephew sat in his lap and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He was so good about it. And then when he kissed her because she was afraid of the needle. That was so sweet. Why do writers create such great second lead males? Why do they torment us like this? Augh… For once can the second lead just get the girl? Please? Especially in this case..

I really don’t like Jong Dae. At all. (i blame the writer for this) He hasn’t shown me he’s grown. In any way what so ever. There are only two episodes left. Does the writer have it in her/him to make us fall for Jong Dae or show us he’s deserving of her? Not likely.

I need Sueng Hee to wake up and realize that her friend is not a friend, and that Jong Dae has not grown in all the time they were apart. She needs to see that he isn’t good for her and that Wan Ha is.

My ship is sinking fast. I can feel the water seeping in and with each episode it’s slower getting higher. But I’m going to stay on it until the very end. Stranger things have happened (just not when it comes to second male leads getting the girl). Please drama gods hear my plea ad let Wan Ha end up with Seung Hee.

Thank you for the recap. Sorry for the long post.
