It continues to surprise me at how good One Warm Word is, because technically, it is difficult to have a drama dealing about affairs and marriages and not be makjang and over-the-top. I love how OWW tackle these issues, and show us the different sides and perspective, depending on which character we choose to focus on.
Episode 7 had me clapping like a retarded girl in one scene, and also had me “Uh Oh” in another scene, something they do in every episode so far. It is just me who is appreciative of how straight-forward this drama is? I really love the fact that nothing is kept a secret and everything is slowly out in the open.
With this episode, I think I’ve got a clear idea on Min Soo’s stand. He does not have a one-sided weird crush on Mi Kyung. It’s just sibling love, and also gratefulness because Mi Kyung loves him so much even though he is illegitimate child. He might take extreme measures to protect Mi Kyung, but he’s always ready for the consequences which comes along with every decision he makes. However, his actions might bite him back later on, once he fall in love with Eun Young, and he’s halfway there 🙂
THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION
So after the argument the night before, Mdm Choo decides to chase Min Soo out and tells him to leave. He thanks her for all she has done and gives her a bow. He mentions that he had tried to enter her heart because he thought if he was able to, he could enter any other adults heart. He tells her to look upon him favourably and leaves. Mdm Choo is definitely affected. Looks like, she’s got a heart after all.
Eun Young tells Min Soo to stop a customer from leaving, but he didn’t manage to. He asks her for the reason why she wanted to stop the customer, and she asks him if he prefers older woman (she saw him with Mi Kyung earlier).
The customer walks by, and Eun Young stops him. The customer didn’t had money to make an ID thus he could not open a bank account. Eun Young gives him the money and tells him to make an ID and return to make the bank account. He cries and thanks her. Min Soo is touched 🙂
She goes back to Min Soo and says that she thinks she has a warm personality. Min Soo is amused by her. She asks him why he look at her with those eyes, and asked about his preference about older woman again. He kept staring at her before saying, “I’m attracted. I shouldn’t be doing this, but I’m starting to get attracted to you.”*squeeeee* and he picks a strand of hair and leaves. Eun Young asks Min Soo if that was a confession that she just received, and he denies. She smiles and say that it was definitely a confession, then changes her words and say that he doesn’t like her enough yet. She says she will wait for him, before turning around and smile by herself.
As for Mi Kyung and Eun Jin’s side, Mi Kyung decides to come clean with Eun Jin about why she hates Eun Jin. She tells Jae Hak to pick her up and introduces him to the cooking class members. Eun Jin and Jae Hak are both shocked. The friends ask if Jae Hak knows Eun Jin and Mi Kyung says that it’s not possible. She puts on a pretense that they’re going out to eat and leaves with Jae Hak.
I love Min Soo and Eun Young’s growing relationship, but at the same time, I’m afraid Min Soo of going down the wrong path to protect Mi Kyung. I hope not.
It’s great that Mi Kyung has finally come clean with Eun Jin about her identity, and now the only person left in the dark is Sung Soo, and it won’t take long before he finds out about the affair.
It’s interesting that I don’t really hate any character and all characters are interesting in their own way. Okay, I’m not that fond of Jae Hak. Hah. But I don’t hate him.
