Liebster Award from Soori :)

liebsterawardThis is my second Liebster award nomination -and thanks to Soori for nominating me 🙂

Actually to accept this, there are certain rules to follow, however – I won’t be able to nominate 10 other bloggers for the award itself, because honestly, I don’t really read a lot of blogs, and I mainly read Dramabeans or Koalasplayground. So I wouldn’t accept the nomination itself. However, really thanks a lot for the thought 🙂

I will answer the 10 questions Soori asked though, because I don’t see anything wrong in sharing. Here goes:

(1) What was your first drama (Korean or other Asian drama) and what made you watch it?

I can’t remember. I started watching dramas when I was very young, and on a daily basis and I’ve always enjoyed watching them. The very first Korean drama I watched was Princess Hours – because there were a lot of talk about it back then in school. I watched more Wuxia dramas, and Taiwan dramas back then and only started actively watching Korean dramas around 2008 when both Wuxia dramas and Taiwan dramas doesn’t seem to be as good any more.

(2) When you start a new drama, what are your requirements (e.g. the plot, poster, trailer, writer, or PD and so on…)

First of all, an interest. It can be anything, whether it is a favourite actor, or a well-known writer, or an interesting trailer or plot, and sometimes good reviews from a lot of viewers can pique up my interest. However, I can always choose to drop a drama, when it falls below expectation.

(3) What story (drama story) had an impact on your life, or if there are any?

All dramas gives me invaluable insights – and it continues to amaze me at times at how much I can learn from dramas. Some dramas have very interesting characters, some dramas have very interesting quotes. Dramas generally made an impact on my life, because without them, I don’t think I can endure everyday living. It’s a form of de-stress for me, something I really like and enjoy.

(4) What is your favourite OST and why?

This is hard! There are so many awesome OSTs and I’ve watched countless dramas! Hahahaha! I won’t be able to answer this. I can just say, I loved a lot of OSTs. One more thing I can say is that I prefer ballads OST.

(5) What are your thoughts in regards to the weak female leads?

Overused, and boring. They’re everywhere and I do not want to see another weak female lead who can’t do anything on her own, gets bullied and just wait for Prince Charming to come and save the day. Boo. I like the characters having depth, so such shallow characters certainly do not appeal to me. I might use to like it, but after watching so many dramas, I got tired of that same old character.

(6) What character you find similar to yourself and why?

No particular character in general, however a bit of personality from this and that character? I won’t say more, because it’s like talking about what kind of person I am, and I’m not sharing that on the net. Hahaha.

(7) Do you have any actresses/actors you used to dislike but ended up changing your opinion about him/her/them after watching a (certain) drama?

Of course I do. Plenty. I wasn’t fond of Go Ara, (who I thought did well in Reply 1994), and Shin Min Ah (who I then loved in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho). I didn’t like Ji Chang Wook too, but him as Ta Hwan in Empress Ki is just so amazing. There are many others too.

(8) Which variety show is your guilty pleasure?

Right now, I’m watching Running Man, We got Married & 1 Night 2 Days. However, the best variety to me was those from the past, like Family Outing, We Got Married Season 1, X-Man, Love Letter. Those were really the BOMB! Now, I watch a bit of here and there depending on any free time I have left after dramas. I am watching Exo Showtime, but I don’t think that’s considered a variety, but I am enjoying that 🙂

(9) Which singer/s made you cry?

I don’t really cry. However, I can say that I’m a fan of FT ISLAND (I’m a Primadonna), and I just simply love Hongki’s voice. Just amazing. I listen to a lot of songs in general, and I’m a fan of EXO too 🙂 Rather than a singer/s making me cry, it’s more of what songs touches and affects me a lot – and there are too many to list. I tend to prefer singers with low tones, like Hongki, Baekhyun, Kyungsoo, Super Junior’s Yesung, V.O.S Kim Kyung Rok, Eru, Lee Seung Chul and the list goes on.

(10) What would be your ideal drama story?

I don’t really have one. Maybe me and my bias? HAHAHAHA!

Alright, Soori, I’ve answered your questions. Thanks a lot for the nomination though 🙂

And…anyone else who wants to share their own answers, go ahead. I’ll be more than happy to read 🙂
