Alright – I’ve watched new Wed-Thu drama, Cunning Single Lady and I loved the first two episodes 🙂
Picked up this drama, because I loved three of the leads, Lee Min Jung, Joo Sang Wook – and the most important one, Seo Kang Joon. Hahahah. Basically, it’s a romance comedy about a married couple who divorced, and still hold grudges against each other.
The first two episodes moved on pretty quickly, and we get an idea of who’s who and what’s to come. Anyway, it’s nice having romance comedy because the other half of the currently airing drama are those with heavier themes.
I don’t think I’ll be doing recaps for this – but I’ll just do a short summary on the first two episodes. I don’t know if I will be doing POV DISCUSSIONS for the rest of the episodes, or recaps. I’ll see how it goes~
EPISODE 1 & 2
The next day, Jung Woo tells Ae Ra that he wants to see her. Ae Ra dresses up – only to find out that Jung Woo is offering her the alimony he couldn’t gave her when they divorced, and asked her to sign a contract. She’s offended and tears up the contract before ranting at him and leaving.
She meets Jung Woo and tells him that no matter who took it, they’ll just consider that she took it – and there shouldn’t be any reason why she can’t take it. She tells him that this should cleanly end their relationship one and for all.
THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION
I liked it. Right now, what I like is basically the characters Ae Ra, Jung Woo and Seung Hyun.
Ae Ra may seem like a materialistic girl, but I think she’s more than that. It’s true that maybe she choose him because he was studying the civil exam and passed it – but I believe she married him because she loved him too. After Jung Woo resign from his job and they both were struggling to make ends meet for about 4 years – Ae Ra decides to divorce him.
Honestly, I don’t find anything wrong with her decision. I’m not saying that you should abandon your husband if he goes broke, but rather than divorcing him because he’s poor – I’m pretty sure there were other feelings involved as she decides to divorce him. If it was because of money, she wouldn’t have worked all those jobs to support him. And I suspect she was pregnant (while working at the clothes shop) and got a miscarriage, since her face when playing with her friend’s baby was different.
Maybe in Jung Woo’s perspective, Ae Ra should have stood by him no matter what and he felt betrayed when she was harsh towards him as he fails and even divorces him, but perhaps he failed to think of what Ae Ra is going through.
Anyway, I’ll be looking forward to their interactions 🙂
Seung Hyun’s character haven’t done anything yet – I just like Seo Kang Joon. HAH! And I’m pretty sure he’ll rock his role~
We’ve seen Yeo Jin – and I think she was married but her husband died, and now she likes (?) Jung Woo. I’m not sure if she really likes him, because she clearly doesn’t look like it – but she wants to have him for herself.
Oh – we have Myung Soo (L from Kpop group INFINITE), playing Yo Han who is Jung Woo’s secretary. Hah. I don’t mind it at all – it’s extra eye candy, but I don’t really understand why would he want to act out a secretary? It’s just a little weird? Oh well~
Anyway, that’s about it for now 🙂 I’m just so excited for Seung Hyun to have a thing for Ae Ra – because he’s just too cute. Alright – excessive fangirling. I apologize. Hahaha.
