Episode 2 of Angel Eyes continue to be awesome – and damn I got it wrong. I thought Hye Joo would die, but it turns out that Jung Hwa, Dong Joo’s mom, died instead.
There were quite a few questions left unanswered – and we’re probably find out as we watch, but the more I watch, the more I love Dong Joo and Soo Wan. They are just awesome characters – and just so amazing to watch. Kang Ha Neul really portrayed Dong Joo very well, and I really hope Lee Sang Yoon would continue the character’s charm. Of course, Nam Ji Hyun is doing well herself.
Dong Joo left for America as Hye Joo needs a surgery there, and Soo Wan misunderstands thinking that he left her without saying anything despite his promise not to disappear from her.
It’s not going to be a full recap – just screenshots and discussions~
It’s Soo Wan’s birthday – and she’s going over to Dong Joo’s place. Dad comes home, and tells her that there is a chance for her to get a surgery as a donor has appeared. Soo Wan tells her dad that there is someone she really wants to see.
Soo Wan has a great time celebrating with Dong Joo’s family, and she gets a call from Dad, saying that the donor changed their mind. Soo Wan excuses herself, and Mom follows her to the bathroom and comforts her. Mom tells her that nothing would change even if she can’t see – she’s pretty, and there are a lot of people around her who loves her. Mom tells her that if she can, she would give her eyes to Soo Wan.
Dong Joo’s Mom is really awesome – she’s so sweet, so kind, and treats Soo Wan like a real daughter 🙂
Yoon Jae Bum and Oh Young Ji talks about Soo Wan. I’m really curious as to what kind of relationship these two have. Yoon Jae Bum is always thankful to her – and yeah….. I don’t know what kind of relationship they have. I don’t think it’s an affair because Jae Bum really loved his wife. Maybe they’re just friends.
Dong Joo brings Soo Wan out and let her hear the recording. He tells her not to take it off till he says so. It’s the sound of the water, and birds chirping. Dong Joo let her imagine, by describing how the sun, sky and wind feels like.
Mom has to go for an operation – and she tells Dong Joo that if anything goes wrong, she only has two requests – one is for him to go America for Hye Joo’s surgery, and the second one is for her eyes to be donated to Soo Wan. Dong Joo is upset that his Mom is saying such stuff.
The surgery went well – but someone is watching Dong Joo closely and instructs a person not to let his mom live as she may remember who was the one who hit her. The person in a doctor’s uniform injects some stuff into Mom, and Mom’s condition worsen.
Jae Bum is the first to step inside the room – and he is about to perform CPR when he remembers that if she dies, her eyes would go to Soo Wan. However, he still performs CPR – and Dong Joo returns to find that his Mom is dying. He stops Jae Bum from trying to revive her again as he doesn’t want his Mom to be in more pain.
Dong Joo sits by Soo Wan’s bedside and tells her that he has to go somewhere far away and for quite a long time. He tells her that he is sorry that he can’t be there for her when she open her eyes – and tells her to be faithful to him. </3 </3
THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION
OMG. So much tears in this episode. Firstly, WHO & WHY did the person kill Dong Joo’s mom?!
The accident happened so fast, and I doubt she had the time to look who hit into her, and if she had known, she would have told Dong Joo before she was sent to surgery. Was it not an accident and done on purpose? If so, WHY?
The important thing is that – she was indeed murdered, because someone injected something which made her condition worse. However, did Jae Bum do something too?
He looked like he tried his best and hardest to save Dong Joo’s Mom, but is that really the case? He looks guilt-stricken, as though he’s hiding something. Maybe he could have saved Dong Joo’s Mom, but he didn’t, and pretended he couldn’t.
Dong Joo amazes me with his awesomeness. He’s such a charming dude! His mother passed away, and gave her eyes to Soo Wan, and Dong Joo remains calm despite all of these, and all he cares about is for Soo Wan to go through the surgery safely. I mean – even for normal people, it’s difficult to accept such a situation.
No, I don’t mean that he has to hold a grudge against her – there’s no reason to, but it’s not easy accepting the fact that someone you know is receiving the eyes of your mother who just died. It would have been very difficult emotionally.
And Soo Wan was amazing in her own way. Her friend was telling her, to be on stand-by as there is a chance for her to get the eyes and tells her to pray. Soo Wan knows however, how wrong it seems to be praying – as she’s wishing that the person dies so that she could get the eyes.
It feels wrong, and she hates herself for being that way, but she ‘tells’ Dong Joo, that despite so, Dong Joo shouldn’t hate her for it. She says that it would be worse than being unable to see.
Anyway – why would Jae Bum hide the letter from Soo Wan?! But since the letter isn’t destroyed, she will probably find out one day. Most probably, Soo Wan wouldn’t know who gave her the eyes and what happened.
Ahhh~ I’m so sad to see Kang Ha Neul and Nam Ji Hyun go~~~ but oh well, I’m all ready for the next episode because the heartbreak won’t come till much later, and we’ll probably see a lot of fun I guess 🙂
