DISCUSSION: Hotel King Reviews

Anyone else watching Hotel King?

I just wanted to see what others think of the drama, and if it’s just me who thinks that it’s boring. The first episode was a little messy, but I thought it would do pretty well, but now at episode 6, I don’t know if I’m sticking around any longer.

The only good thing is that scene above. AHAHAHAHA.

I just find the storyline a bit dull and the angst just doesn’t seem to go well with me. There’s too many things going on, and it’s hard to focus. We have an evil dude who wants the hotel for himself and by using Jae Wan. We have Jae Wan who has a love-hate relationship with Mo Ne, and a clueless Mo Ne who sometimes seem earnest in learning, but sometimes just annoying.

There are too many conflicts, which isn’t necessarily bad, but nothing is attention-grabbing yet.

I don’t know….but nothing seems to be holding my attention for long, and I might just drop watching this drama, because there is like another 3 or 4 new dramas airing soon – and I’ll always make time for better dramas.

  1. Thanks for this screenshot. It was worth watching episode 6 for this scene🙂
I agree with you 100%, this drama’s plot feels so slow and dull. I think maybe, I am so used to watching 16 or 20 episodes dramas, the pace that this drama is going at (30ish episodes) is just too slow. Nevertheless, I am still hanging on for my love of LDW & LDH couple❤
Another thing affecting my enjoyment of this drama are the second leads, Im Seong Long made quite an impression on me in Mandate of Heaven. But in this drama, it just seems like he's just following LDH's character around like a puppy. So annoying to me. And the female second lead, it seems to me like she got more plastic surgery or something, cannot stand watching her face. Sorry I had to rant a bit. But I guess they've done their jobs, if I hate the second leads already🙂

  2. hello Guys! I would like to strongly disagree! I believe this is a very interesting and top notch drama. Confusion in the drama, is a natural thing my dear! And what you’re saying that it’s a flaw with so many twists, it’s actually what keeps us watching it. It may sound unnecessary for now, but your conclusion was too early to say that and too far from what I see so far.
I respect your opinion guys, but overall, I firmly believe that this drama – HOTEL KING should have been on TOP of the ranks. If you’re looking for stellar acting and absolutely mind boggling story of twists and turns, not mention to some comedy too in just 1 drama – HOTEL KING is a rare thing you just can’t miss! this is not just a reunion drama..this is a next level performance by both LEE DA-HAE and LEE DONG-WOOK.

    • Nice to know you’re enjoying it. I think there’s quite a lot of people who likes it.

Sadly, I’m not one of them. I’m not exatcly confused by the plot, there’s just so many things going on, and I don’t really feel hooked into any of them😦 It just somehow doesn’t grab my attention.

But the scene when his toy dropped, that was funny. AHAHAHAHA. HIS FACE. LOL.

There are good moments definitely, but I find more downs with it then ups. Good to know you love it though🙂

And as for Lee Dong Wook…..I’m watching him in roommate so I get a good dosage of him too. AHAHAHAHA.

  3. well good for you that you’re not confused at all. I hope you can answer all my questions in mind……😀 There are a lot of good actors in the Philippines I would definitely distinguish if his performance is lacking.😉 (if you get what i mean.) thanks!

      • You said you’re not confused, so I’m thinking you know what’s going to happen next if I ask you so… it has 32 episodes,so I will really appreciate it if you can tell me now how the mysteries will unfold…… wanna tell me???

  4. I’m on my way to watching hotel king but after read your review and disscussion I think…😀 I shouldn’t waste my time lmao
