Okay, I’ve watched the remake version of Fated To Love You, and I’m loving it so much. I never really watch remakes, because it’s weird and boring when you know what’s going to happen. It’s different from watching the same drama twice – because the casts are all different, but the story line is the same. You would end up comparing which version is better, which actor is better, and we lose part of the fun.
However, I’m honestly quite surprised at how nice it was to watch FTLY all over again, but a different version. I watched the Taiwanese version twice, and I loved the drama a lot. It did got a bit draggy somewhere in the middle, but the drama was really nice.
I was wondering why it took so long to remake this show, but I think it’s good that they choose to remake it now – because it’s been such a long time since I last watched the TW version. It feels refreshing, and I find my memories of the drama coming back.
Despite the drama being an awesome drama, there were some parts which got really draggy in the TW version, and I hope this version doesn’t follow that. I still remember a lot of scenes from the TW version, and just for the sake of others who never watched the TW version, I shall not spoil the fun.
I’m a big fan of Ethan Ruan, who played Jang Hyuk’s character is the TW version, and I was a bit skeptical at how Jang Hyuk would be playing the character, because I’m not a big fan of Jang Hyuk. I’m pleased that Jang Hyuk is actually doing really well, and he has his own style of portraying the character – I don’t even find myself comparing his performance with Ethan Ruan.
And Choi Jin Hyuk is so good-looking, and he’s going to swoon us in the later part of the drama. Urgh -my heart needs preparation.
I can’t wait to see more episodes!!! Oh and how pleasing to see Park Won Suk to play Jang Hyuk’s grandmother in the drama. I remembered the TW version, that the grandmother was a big supporter of Jang Nara’s character. I mean – she plays so many nasty mother roles, and it’s nice to see a change. Hahahaha.
And those who never watched the TW version – DON’T CHEAT. Hahaha. I think some would dig for recaps or reviews from the TW version to know the story, but that spoils the fun, so it’s better not to.
Now…..if only there was a remake of Bu Bu Jing Xin… but I think that’s impossible since the whole palace history is different, but that drama remains as one of the best dramas I’ve watched and it would be interesting if there was a remake for it – though expectations would be super duper ultra high.
