Episode 4 confirmed that Kang Woo is actually non-existent, and I am so excited for the upcoming episodes!!! I wasn’t very keen on the whole Kang Woo mystery being dragged on for episodes, because it’s pretty much obvious already – but if such a big reveal is this early in the game, I can expect a bigger twist in the later episodes, right?
There weren’t any special cases in this episode, it focused on mainly Kang Woo and Jae Yeol’s relationship as well as Hae Soo and Jae Yeol’s relationship. It’s weird how Hae Soo is actually the doctor, but Jae Yeol manages to say all the right things, regarding her fear and anxiety.
Now the big mystery is actually who is the real murderer… is it really Jae Beom, or is it Jae Yul?
Not a recap – discussion only.
THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION
I loved it when Jae Yeol said all the right things. Hae Soo is clearly a doctor, but she still can’t cure her own fears and anxiety. The thing for us to learn from this is what he said – that all it takes is a moment.
Fear and anxiety plays a huge part in our lives, and it sometimes affects the way we interact or go by our daily lives – but to overcome it actually just takes a moment, with lots of courage of course. How long that ‘moment’ takes will probably depend on our fears, and how much courage and willingness we have. In Hae Soo’s case, she still can’t forget and accept her mother’s action which she came across when she was young – it left a scar.
Until Hae Soo comes to terms with that first, it would be difficult for her to overcome her fear and anxiety completely. And the only way to overcome fear is to face it head-on, not to run away.
I wonder why Dong Min never really talk to Jae Beom – is it because he’s observing, or is it because he can’t be bothered with Dong Min? Or does he thinks that Jae Beom is completely mentally fine and doesn’t need a consultation? However, it did bothered him when Jae Beom said that he wished his mother and brother gets injected with the injection.
Late at night, Dong Min was called up to speak to Jae Beom who was crying from his sleep – and Jae Beom explains on how he keeps dreaming the same dream, that his brother was the one who killed the father and his mother saw it but didn’t helped him, which was how he was found guilty and charged with murder. Dong Min just listens without any expression or saying anything.
However when Jae Beom cried and held Dong Min’s hand, pleading with him to let his mother and brother have that injection – Dong Min clearly wavered. In Dong Min eyes, does it look like Jae Beom is sincere and telling the truth? However – is this part of Jae Beom’s plan to fool Dong Min? We won’t know if Jae Beom is really wronged – or if he is ill.
Maybe he really did kill the father, but has some sort of illness – which makes him dream that it’s not him who killed his father, but his brother – and makes it feel as though it’s reality.
When Hae Soo was watching back the video she took that night when she slept at Jae Yeol’s, we see Jae Yeol entering the bathroom. Did she happen to notice near the end of the video, that the bathroom has a lock? I’m not sure about this – but apparently her video lasted the whole night, since it turned dark and bright again and she said that he remained a gentleman till the end. However, we didn’t actually see Jae Yeol coming out of the toilet.
Did he…. sleep inside the bathroom or something??? Oh – and why was he wearing a cap anyway? He couldn’t have went out to meet Kang Woo – because this was after he had met Kang Woo and returned home to find her sleeping.
Kang Woo and Jae Yeol picture spam ahead. Heh.
So we see that Kang Woo brought Jae Yeol to a certain girl’s place, and he has a crush on her. However, we also see that the high school girl – is actually a different girl. QUESTIONS IN MY HEAD RIGHT NOW.
Who is this girl? What is her relationship with Jae Yeol, does she have any?
So we all know that Kang Woo is Jae Yeol’s imagination – and that he’s not real. However, why is Jae Yeol seeing Kang Woo? Are we really looking at Kang Woo, as Jae Yeol’s past, or is there something more to it?
Did Hae Soo noticed anything odd?
The big mystery of the drama probably is the real murderer – who is it.
Could it really be like what Jae Beom said, that Jae Yeol was the real killer? Somehow that trauma affected Jae Yeol, and he lost his memory of the incident. Or is Jae Beom the one with the illness, who thinks that his dreams are actually reality? The same fact can be used against Jae Yeol as well. Maybe after the incident happened, he convinced himself that his brother killed the father, and that thought became a ‘reality’ to him. As to why the mother never spoke up – maybe she didn’t want her younger son to be in prison? Maybe because Jae Yeol is smarter or something?
But if Kang Woo is really ‘Jae Yeol’, I guess we’ll slowly get to see and discover what actually happened.
There’s honestly so many questions – and it’s really interesting because we have two completely different ‘tones’ and ‘vibes’ from the drama. When we get to Kang Woo and Jae Beom, we wonder and ponder – but when it’s the other scenes, it’s laidback and fun.
I guess we can look forward to bigger mysteries down the road and the hot chemistry between Jae Yeol and Hae Soo.
