POV DISCUSSION: It’s Okay It’s Love Episode 4

Episode 4 confirmed that Kang Woo is actually non-existent, and I am so excited for the upcoming episodes!!! I wasn’t very keen on the whole Kang Woo mystery being dragged on for episodes, because it’s pretty much obvious already – but if such a big reveal is this early in the game, I can expect a bigger twist in the later episodes, right?

There weren’t any special cases in this episode, it focused on mainly Kang Woo and Jae Yeol’s relationship as well as Hae Soo and Jae Yeol’s relationship. It’s weird how Hae Soo is actually the doctor, but Jae Yeol manages to say all the right things, regarding her fear and anxiety.

Now the big mystery is actually who is the real murderer… is it really Jae Beom, or is it Jae Yul?

Not a recap – discussion only.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h43m32s50I loved it when Jae Yeol said all the right things. Hae Soo is clearly a doctor, but she still can’t cure her own fears and anxiety. The thing for us to learn from this is what he said – that all it takes is a moment.

Fear and anxiety plays a huge part in our lives, and it sometimes affects the way we interact or go by our daily lives – but to overcome it actually just takes a moment, with lots of courage of course. How long that ‘moment’ takes will probably depend on our fears, and how much courage and willingness we have. In Hae Soo’s case, she still can’t forget and accept her mother’s action which she came across when she was young – it left a scar.

Until Hae Soo comes to terms with that first, it would be difficult for her to overcome her fear and anxiety completely. And the only way to overcome fear is to face it head-on, not to run away.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h44m16s237I wonder why Dong Min never really talk to Jae Beom – is it because he’s observing, or is it because he can’t be bothered with Dong Min? Or does he thinks that Jae Beom is completely mentally fine and doesn’t need a consultation? However, it did bothered him when Jae Beom said that he wished his mother and brother gets injected with the injection.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h46m22s216vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h46m25s243Late at night, Dong Min was called up to speak to Jae Beom who was crying from his sleep – and Jae Beom explains on how he keeps dreaming the same dream, that his brother was the one who killed the father and his mother saw it but didn’t helped him, which was how he was found guilty and charged with murder. Dong Min just listens without any expression or saying anything.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h46m46s202vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h46m51s248However when Jae Beom cried and held Dong Min’s hand, pleading with him to let his mother and brother have that injection – Dong Min clearly wavered. In Dong Min eyes, does it look like Jae Beom is sincere and telling the truth? However – is this part of Jae Beom’s plan to fool Dong Min? We won’t know if Jae Beom is really wronged – or if he is ill.

Maybe he really did kill the father, but has some sort of illness – which makes him dream that it’s not him who killed his father, but his brother – and makes it feel as though it’s reality.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h45m11s15vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h45m17s77When Hae Soo was watching back the video she took that night when she slept at Jae Yeol’s, we see Jae Yeol entering the bathroom. Did she happen to notice near the end of the video, that the bathroom has a lock? I’m not sure about this – but apparently her video lasted the whole night, since it turned dark and bright again and she said that he remained a gentleman till the end. However, we didn’t actually see Jae Yeol coming out of the toilet.

Did he…. sleep inside the bathroom or something??? Oh – and why was he wearing a cap anyway? He couldn’t have went out to meet Kang Woo – because this was after he had met Kang Woo and returned home to find her sleeping.

Kang Woo and Jae Yeol picture spam ahead. Heh.

vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h47m39s216vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h47m53s97vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h47m13s214vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m01s179vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m06s230vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m29s208vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m14s49vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m32s230vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h48m34s254(That Satan glare I see so often xDDD)

So we see that Kang Woo brought Jae Yeol to a certain girl’s place, and he has a crush on her. However, we also see that the high school girl – is actually a different girl. QUESTIONS IN MY HEAD RIGHT NOW.

Who is this girl? What is her relationship with Jae Yeol, does she have any?

So we all know that Kang Woo is Jae Yeol’s imagination – and that he’s not real. However, why is Jae Yeol seeing Kang Woo? Are we really looking at Kang Woo, as Jae Yeol’s past, or is there something more to it?

Did Hae Soo noticed anything odd?

The big mystery of the drama probably is the real murderer – who is it.

Could it really be like what Jae Beom said, that Jae Yeol was the real killer? Somehow that trauma affected Jae Yeol, and he lost his memory of the incident. Or is Jae Beom the one with the illness, who thinks that his dreams are actually reality? The same fact can be used against Jae Yeol as well. Maybe after the incident happened, he convinced himself that his brother killed the father, and that thought became a ‘reality’ to him. As to why the mother never spoke up – maybe she didn’t want her younger son to be in prison? Maybe because Jae Yeol is smarter or something?

But if Kang Woo is really ‘Jae Yeol’, I guess we’ll slowly get to see and discover what actually happened.

There’s honestly so many questions – and it’s really interesting because we have two completely different ‘tones’ and ‘vibes’ from the drama. When we get to Kang Woo and Jae Beom, we wonder and ponder – but when it’s the other scenes, it’s laidback and fun.

I guess we can look forward to bigger mysteries down the road and the hot chemistry between Jae Yeol and Hae Soo.

Now, let me see cute Kyungsoo again. vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h47m48s51vlcsnap-2014-08-01-13h47m51s77

  1. I was so shocked. ..my mouth literally dropped. No way…lol. I mean…His phone rang in epi 3 right and he was yelling at him over the story??? Right? I thought it was so insane about the whole bathroom thing..
But I think that the bathroom is his security blanket.

    • AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! OMG. That cracked me up so bad. “Bathroom is his security blanket.” But maybe it’s true. Maybe that’s where he hide when his father wants to hit him.

    • Right?! I was so surprised. Honestly it makes a lot of sense, like him reliving past or something. I don’t know. I was surprised, I don’t think it was all that predictable, but maybe I’m just dumb. I’m super impressed with this drama. And I’m crying right now and I don’t even know why. This drama is just super touching… Ahhh<3 Oh my gosh.

  2. oh my god!!!! thank you for this!!!! I was watching and suddenly kang woo disappear & I went to search up and found this…. It’s great!!

    • if you’re asking about her character – I don’t know either. It can be a random cameo which has nothing to do with the plot, or maybe his first love, or something we all don’t know about. if you’re asking about the actress, it’s Ha Yun Joo.

    • I actually really didn’t notice that when I was watching it. So this is really important. I think the lace shirt girl is the person living in the home now, but the high schooler is someone from their past? I don’t know. I really like this drama. It’s pretty unique and unpredictable (as far as dramas go).

    • Well they look like the same girl…just older!! I I didn’t caught that part right away until I saw the pictures on here because K.W. said…”my favorite part is when she changes her clothes” So I thought perhaps she changed her clothes before she opened the window. Honestly…i think he killed the stepfather and he is feeling remorse. I mean…If my “brother” stabbed me…i would probably be pissed for the rest of my life but he was smiling when he got stabbed. More so…like, it’s okay…you can continue hurting me because I cause you pain and physical pain is the only thing I can give back??

      • I really like your observation on him smiling. It’s a good idea. I can’t say that I think it’s right, but it definitely isn’t wrong. I especially like how you worded it “like, it’s okay…you can continue hurting me because I cause you pain and physical pain is the only thing I can give back??” I can totally see that part of it. I feel it’s too quick for me to say who the culprit is (although I still feel more than likely it is JJY), but yeah I agree!

        • Ah! I couldn’t sleep…mainly because I was thinking about this show. I realized something really crazy, is it me…or have they been portraying that he has been sleeping in the bathroom this whole time? I mean, even though he had his “gf” in bed…in the first episode but he was already in the bathroom and she was still sleeping. I mean, we never have seen him sleep in his “bed” right? Ah! I am just so frustrated because she seems to be such a good doctor but she is dismissing all his “psychosis” symptoms. I must really be going crazy too for staying up this late to think about a frictional show. HAHA

  3. Can someone help identify the first song played in the radio station scene in episode four? Starts at 32:41. Lyrics below. Help! Love this song, can’t find it.

Knock me down again, I think I need a friend ♬
♬ Someone who understands and won’t pretend ♬
♬ I feel like everyday someone gonna take another swing ♬
    ♬ And I don’t know if I’ll bend or break ♬
♬ Don’t let it get too heavy ♬

Get my feet back on the ground.
♪ Get your feet back on the ground.
    ♪ Oh, yeah
♪ Feet back on the ground

Won’t you pick me up instead of putting me down?
♪ You know they say, “What goes around, goes around.”
♪ ‘Cause I can say everyday, spoken my mind, had my say
♪ Don’t you try to put that trick on me.

  4. At the end of Ep4, I got more evidence about an imagination charater, Jae Yeol’s past. Of course, no one can say for sure, it’s still a mistery. That’s why I can’t wait to watch the next Ep.

I can not deny Kyung Soo’s ability. He did well. A student which has a special ethusiam of writing novel. Because of loving EXO, I watch this drama. However, I’m watching now because this drama is really good, curious story and it’s different from others.

You’re right. There’s so many questions and doubts that need to discover.
So glad that I found a great place discussing this drama.

    Let’s wait next Wednesday.

  5. So at the end I couldn’t scream as loud as I wanted because my niece is asleep. But I had a hunch about it. Kang Woo was someone made for you to fall in love with. He’s sweet and adorable as hell but makes you want to take him away from his problems. At first I thought “They’ll kill him off because he’s a lot of viewers favorite character.” But I was wrong. I think I died inside when I realized Kang Woo was just Jae Yeol’s imagination. When Jae Yeol was consoling Kang Woo I thought “Ah! So he went through the same thing.” But I wasn’t prepared for that.

I think every single character has went through something traumatic and they should tell more of the other’s stories.

    • Honestly, I wouldn’t have known it either, but I accidentally came across the spoiler which fans quickly assumed and posted after the first episode… so yeah. I knew it ahead of the reveal. Sad though to be spoiled that way. Hahaha.

  6. I think that maybe kang woo crush is actually an old crush from jae yeol so that’s why an older girl appear after they left, the young girl never was there it was the older version of the crush the whole time but jae yeol imagination made her look younger. I felt sad when I saw that kang woo was not real T.T why??
