Blood – is well…interesting. I’m sad to see Healer go, but it’s Ahn Jae Hyun first leading role, so I’m here to cheer for him~
The first two episodes wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, there are some pretty cool and interesting stuff. However, I’m still not fully on board yet because anyone who watched it probably knows it – the acting is zzzzzzzzz. And no I’m not talking about Ahn Jae Hyun.
Initially I thought it was just about a vampire doctor trying to live like humans, but after watching the first two episodes, it seems like there are actually more than one vampire, and there is some sort of mystery, which actually makes me curious to find out.
Let’s talk about the bad thing first.
Strangely awkward and bad acting from Goo Hye Sun. I’m serious. I never really thought she was bad at acting, despite watching some of her dramas – but her acting in Blood was so bad, I’m left speechless. What happened O.o?
Her character is supposedly an arrogant but talented surgeon, and yes we can see that she’s arrogant – but she acted it out so badly, that you can’t even say that it’s average. It’s just bad.
I hope that it’s just temporary and that she will act out her role more comfortably and naturally in future episodes, because if that kind of acting is sticking with us for the episodes to come, it’s going to be a real headache.
Okay – besides Goo Hye Sun, is…. the CG effect, or extra effects, or whatever they are called.
The dogs at the forest were pretty lame, and Ahn Jae Hyun running across the forest reminds me of Twilight in a way. And when he bleeds in the forest and was self-healing, we could see the flowers bloom – reminds me of Gu Family Book.
Well, on the bright side, at least when they turn into vampire, it’s not that bad. It looks pretty ugly – but yeah, a little scary, but not bad.
Now the good stuff –
I’m actually liking the whole vampire mystery stuff. Ji Jin Hee is the big baddie, who controls other vampires, for some sort of big experiment, which is still a mystery to us. Ahn Jae Hyun is a pure blood vampire, which I assume is because he was born by two vampires. Does that mean vampires are not allowed to marry? Okay, maybe it means the other vampires are not married.
This whole vampire stuff seems pretty interesting to me, so I’m sticking around to see if it’s going to be good.
It’s Ahn Jae Hyun’s first leading role, and despite some awkward acting, but I think he’s pretty alright for now. Maybe because Goo Hye Sun was so bad, it made his acting look much bearable.
Anyway, I wonder how the drama is going to turn out like – is it going to focus on the vampires fighting one another, or is it going to focus on the hospital? It would be nice if it could balance both well, because I love medical dramas but haven’t watched any good ones in recent years.
I just hope it doesn’t turn out as stupid as Doctor Stranger (Sorry fans of DS).
There were good props in the drama too! The robot his friend made for him was cute and his bed is pretty cool.
But the funniest thing for me was that Kwon Hyun Sang is in this drama as an evil vampire under Ji Jin Hee. He was the evil vampire in Vampire Prosecutor Season 2, so when I saw him in this drama, I was like laughing by myself. So is Ji Jin Hee the big baddie in Vampire Prosecutor? (K sorry – it’s supposedly a lame joke)
Oh – and they are vampires because they are infected by some virus which turn them into vampires. There is no cure at the moment. So does that mean that there would be a cure in the future? Maybe he’ll become human in the end? I guess there might be a reason why it’s a virus and not just simply a vampire, as in vampire that we know. There might be a cure for it.
Anyway – I would be keeping my eyes on this until I find a reason not to. Maybe it would be good, maybe not.
