REVIEW: Novoland, The Castle in the Sky

vlcsnap-2016-11-09-22h12m12s271Alright, I’m not sure how should I go about reviewing this. I started this because it looked interesting and someone recommended me to give it a try.

It was interesting initially, but I can’t deny that there are a lot of things which made me frustrated. I’m glad it was only 28 episodes long and I didn’t have to waste more time on it.

In fact, when it comes to chinese historical or wuxia dramas, I have a little bit more patience in me, maybe because I grew up watching these kinds of dramas.

THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION

Basically the drama is about the Wingclan and the Humanclan who are supposed to live in harmony. Based on the synopsis, Sky City was supposed to be blown up and Ting Yi was supposed to be accused for it.

However, nothing of such happened? Ting Yi rejected being the crown princess and ran away to hide with the Wingclan.

vlcsnap-2016-11-09-22h07m50s148My most hated character is him, Huan Zheng. Yup. He’s kind and nice initially but he is so thoughtless at times, I really felt like giving him a punch. His character suddenly turned into someone who is really dumb (I’M SORRY) which caused the ultimate ending.

I don’t understand why he hates Tian Yi so much. The Xue family were treacherous so it’s only right that they die for their crimes.

And both Fu Ling and Tian Yi were frustrating. They keep going around in circles, saying things they don’t mean, and in the end, they still don’t end up together!

It was really a waste of time watching this.

I thought that there would be at least something to take with me watching this, some form of satisfaction or anything – but nothing. It just leaves me frustrated and annoyed.

Don’t watch this.

  1. I was also frustrated, but with the chinese dramas many things are not logical, and I really hate their endings with someone dying and the other wandering. But the alternative ending is more aceptable and logical for many reasons, at least, it is not the tipical chinese ending all dramatic (Yeah, I was very unhappy with the final of Ice Fantasy too) if the second season end in a similar way, I´m gonna kill someone
