And it’s time to say goodbye to Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo!!! I’m so going to miss this so much.
It’s been such a long time since I’ve last watched a really good youth drama. Everything about the drama screams PERFECT to me. I loved every single thing about the drama! Given that in recent years, most dramas will have a certain degree of angst included, but this drama does not have any heavy angst and yet managed to be addictive and compelling to watch.
There’s a lot of youth dramas available but this really stands out the most to me right now because of how smooth the story actually flowed from beginning to the end. And not forgetting how each character totally owned their roles and no one stick out as a sore thumb.
THOUGHTS & DISCUSSION
It still makes me happy thinking about how I totally watched it with not much expectations or excitement but ended up really happy about it.
All of the casts were great and I have to really give it to Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk for being so incredibly awesome in their roles.
I did always thought Nam Joo Hyuk has great potential but as his recent dramas have all been disappointing, I wasn’t expecting much – but I was surprised that he totally rocks as Jung Joon Hyung. Clearly, this role suits him perfectly.
I’ve only seen Lee Sung Kyung in bits and pieces of other dramas (because I never really finished the dramas), and was 50-50 about her. I find her gorgeous but don’t really have much opinion about her acting as she’s still pretty new. However now I feel that her role as Kim Bok Joo will surely bring her places.
I think this drama surely will give viewers a second look at both Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung, and I do look forward to more dramas from them and hopefully they pick good suitable roles again.
Anyway, their chemistry is really amazing ❤ Even Bok Joo’s chemistry with her 2 friends, Nan Hee and Sun Ok is great! All the “SWAG” moments, “CHUBS” and the background “WHAT” sound effect. I loved all of it so much!
So basically, I can’t express enough how much I love this drama and how awesome it is. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I mean how can anyone actually hate this drama??? It’s so cute and sweet like honey. And somehow the drama makes me feel young and nostalgic. Okay – that might be a bit of a stretch but you get what I mean.
